David's Condition 9/1/04

David was finally moved back to Intermediate Care (IMC) on Saturday when I was down at the hospital. I was able to get the nurse to give David a code for the phone in his room so we could call and let David say a few words to his Dad at Homewood Nursing Home. I think it was good for both of them to be able to talk if only for a few minutes! David did tell his Dad on the phone that he wished he was where he was...instead of Shock Trauma. He went for an Upper GI in Radiology yesterday. I just got home from the hospital and he was having another "off" day. I basically sat by his bed and held his hand while he slept...it was comforting just being near him and listening to him snore...LOL! I am supposed to have a family meeting with his Team tomorrow at 1:00PM to be given an update on his condition, so I should be able to report more tomorrow!

It's been a strange last couple of weeks with the arrest and I have had to withdraw to a place deep within myself to find my inner strength. Some days are just harder than others and most days, I don't feel much of anything. It's probably my defense mechanism in order to survive what I have to deal with on a daily basis with David. I'll try and update you more tomorrow once his doctors update me!
