David 8/16/04

Things are still about the same with David no real change which is why I haven't posted...that and I just needed some time alone! My daughter says I'm becoming quite the "loner" these days which is so unlike me, but I just really don't have much energy leftover after working 10 hour days and going to the hospital 3-4 days a week! When I get home at night I either work on sweepstakes entries or curl up with a good book!

David was supposed to have a new Hickman line put in today, but he was bumped from the schedule, so I'm hoping that they will maybe do it tomorrow. He's been a little more alert the last couple of days...even being grouchy with his nurse...LOL! Yesterday, he wanted to know what was "new" with Sweepstaking and he told me he was ready to get back to it...then he fell asleep, so like him these days! He'll be alert for 10-15 minutes then he'll sleep like a baby, like I wasn't even there. I just let him sleep and hold his hand until he wakes up again. I just like being near him and I really don't feel the need to talk during those silent moments...it's like that with us, sometimes we just don't have to say anything at all! Just being close to him and feeling his presence is enough.

It's almost 8:30PM and I still haven't eaten. So that's my next priority...grab a bite to eat and curl up with the latest Nicolas Sparks book, "The Wedding". For those of you who read "The Notebook" it's a sequel to that! Still keeping the faith on this end...and if you don't hear from me, it's not always a "bad" thing...sometimes I just need my solitude!
