Minor Setback For David
I was going to
hopefully post tonight that David was transferred to Rehab today but,
sometime during the night he spiked a temp again and all this morning he has
been vomiting blood. They are not quite sure what is going on now...they
have sent blood and urine cultures once again and he probably has another
"nasty" infection somewhere. Needless to say, the Rehab transfer was nixed
and he will probably spend another week at Shock Trauma. David was so
looking forward to going to Rehab by the weekend.
He was feeling
a little better by lunch time so I helped his nurse change his gown and
bedsheets and we gave him a good bath and brushed his teeth and cleaned him
up really good. He said that he felt so much better after that!
I'm working the
next two days so I won't be able to get down again until Sunday. He almost
made me cry today when he said that he wanted to touch my face and feel my
hair. He said he has missed that so much...I miss him so much too! After all
the two of us are just like a jigsaw puzzle...the pieces fit together just
right! I told him that I had waited all my life for a man like him, and that
I wasn't going anyway and he said, "I'm glad...I love you so much and I need
you now more than ever"...sorry for all the sappy stuff...but David's a
really sensitive caring man...most people never see that side of him! I told
him Sunday that I would bring the personal DVD player to the hospital and we
could watch a movie together...without popcorn...LOL! Terry in MD
P.S. They
removed his Trach collar last night, so now he can talk normally again...woohoo!!!
