David Now In Isolation

Sometime during the night, David took a turn for the worse again. He is now in Isolation with strict sterile precautions for his visits. He has an infection that isn't responding to any of the antibiotics they have given him. It started in his bladder and has now spread to other parts of his body. I was really thrown for a loop today when I went to visit and learned that I had to put on a gown, latex gloves and surgical mask just to visit with him! I guess, secondary infections are very serious when you have been there as long as David has been! The 16 year old that was in a really bad car accident and brought in the same night as David, passed away last week from a secondary infection that her body just couldn't fight off...now, I'm even more worried about David! His nurse told me that even if they cure the infection he has from this bacteria that he will still remain in Isolation so that he doesn't contaminate other patients on his floor. This whole ordeal has been one big roller coaster ride...one minute you're up and think that he is making progress and then this happens and you're down again...it just broke my heart today to see him so weak and in such a fragile state now. Please continue to pray for the two of us...but especially for my dear sweet David. I have seen better days and today certainly was not one of them.
