Surgery Update On David

David's doctor called me around 8:00PM last night. He is resting and doing well and holding his own. They re-connected his bowel, repaired another "bleeder" in the small intestine, and put a line in to prepare him for a feeding tube next week. He will undergo surgery again on Tuesday. The doctor did inform me that if you live in the Baltimore area, the Red Cross is having a blood drive at Camden Yards from 9:00AM - 2:00PM, Monday, April 12, 2004. The Maryland Lottery will also be there handing out "FREE" scratch-off lottery tickets.

Rachel and I are off to the hospital with David's Easter goodies. I'm taking tape so that I can hang the Get Well cards from everyone in his Trauma Room. I also bought a very pretty tulip garden and some Easter balloons. I hope that everyone has a Blessed Easter and that you will spend it with your loved ones!

David Back In Surgery Tomorrow

David's doctor called me at work today at CVS Pharmacy for a verbal consent to take him back in the Operating Room tomorrow. Their plans are this for tomorrow: see how the bowel re-connection is holding, and check the other "bleeders" that they repaired, they are also looking for any more dead tissue that may also need to be removed. She wants to examine the back area tomorrow since most of the internal organs have already been repaired. I think she's thinking about any back or spinal cord injuries that may have occurred from the bullets...let's all keep our fingers crossed that there is no permanent damage to his spinal cord, as that would affect him being able to walk again.

I received 52 get well cards...Rachel counted them all. We are going to go through them together after dinner tonight! I have postcard orders to work on as well and I need to make it an early night, as I will have to be at Shock Trauma at 6:00AM tomorrow morning. I'm packing a little bag with 3x5 cards and some entries to work on, while David is in surgery...gotta keep the mind and hands active. Thanks for your continued love and support...

Terry
